Hello, friends

Just wanted to share a little heartwarming story because the world could use more of those.

I think sometimes when we get older, we feel as though we are less attractive, and our value is diminishing. A really good friend of mine I met while on my Entrepreneural pursuits (we used to do business together on a live streaming app) had been telling me for some time now that she wanted to start a youtube channel but she was scared because she is older (in her 60s. not that that's old but she felt as though it would prevent her entirely from having any kind of internet success) She also feared she wasn't literate enough regarding computers.

I had recently started my own channel as well for passive/residual income purposes. When I did she would continue to talk about how she really wanted to start a youtube channel. I kept encouraging her to start her own channel. I would tell her it doesn't matter her age, what matters is the fact that she's following her heart and doing what she loves.

Sure enough she started her channel to which I immediately supported, followed and interact with all of her content. and the interactions aren't disingenuous either her channel is about generating money which is a topic obviously that would benefit me a lot and I am genuinely interested. She was somewhat of a financial mentor to me a while back because she's absolutely brilliant and has degrees in finance and is a boomer (to me I think the generation that understands money the best is boomers.)

Now she's got over 100 subscribers. She just started. Her content and editing gets better and better every upload. Not to mention she looks SO HAPPY in all of her videos. You can see the light in her eyes and how happy she is doing what she loves.

Never let your age make you feel as though it is a barrier for your goals and dreams. If you're older that just means you're wiser ;) ❤

I've been debating starting a YouTube channel for a couple years now. I really love singing and a few here have told me I should audition for the Voice or start YouTube. I'm so nervous because I'm not some amazing powerhouse, but I just love music and singing. I am thinking of doing audio vids to start because I'm really self conscious. 🙁
Making a bit of money would be a plus because I'm financially suffering rn too. I don't even know how to create a video but I guess I could learn. You gave me a bit of hope to do what you love. 🫂

@Coralmist this was the purpose I was hoping for when I posted this :')

This may sound very morbid, but I think like this because I had a near death experience. Tomorrow isn't guaranteed. Don't ever be in a position where you regret all of the things you didn't do in life.

You deserve to have a fulfilled life doing the things you love and enjoy ❤ When I started YouTube that's what prevented me from starting for so long I wasn't sure how to work YouTube. I learned watching tutorials until I figured it out. :)

But I will say this I tell everyone who comes to me venting about being self-conscious about mean people online. It's very unfortunate that these individuals act this way. They project who they are on the inside. It has nothing to do with you as a human being, nor does it take away from your value. When you put yourself "out there" unfortunately these are the consequences of doing so. You will receive occasional hate.

I'm not going to sit here and lie to you like it's all peaches and gummies. BUT always keep in the back of your mind, those people hate themselves and after they flick through your video, they're just going to go be a dick head on someone else's video. I just delete their comments and keep going.

@MrBrownstone I actually do have OF but my content was going to be the same content I stream on the other livestreaming app which would be cooking and cleaning and lifestyle.

OF is associated with seggs work but it's changed a lot. I don't do seggs content xD

It's a nice platform to do content and get payouts fairly easy.

you're headed in the right direction. The problem is when you're creating content you have to use seo tools because it helps you effectively tag your content. You want to add words that are in high demand, low competition because that skyrockets your chances of your video being seen.

let me give you an example. Scary stories is in super high demand, however it's oversaturated therefore if I tag my video scary stories there's too much competition to ever be seen because the algorithm will be boosting "scary stories" with the most likes, views, and comments.

"african folktales" for example is what we call "niching down". It is a subniche in scary stories. the importance of niching down is what is going to get you seen. African folktakes is typically searched "225,000" times a month according to vidiq with 43 competing videos.

You find sub niches like that and create, create, create because you WILL be seen. If you're nonstop creating "african folktales" and you only have 43 competing videos and the search volume is THAT high.... think about it
