Apparently a kid at my nieces school was caught with a loaded gun.

That is so scary. I’m sorry that happened, but I’m glad they caught him, at least. And from one woman who was unsure about having kids to another, you mustn’t let such fears deter you. I’m still a brand new mother and the uncertainty of the future scares me every day, but I can tell you I still don’t regret a thing. The love you feel for your baby makes whatever may come worth it already. Remember this because if you ever have your own, you’ll know exactly what I mean. 🫂

Used to happen at my school all the time. They would have the cops come in & do random searches sometimes & kids would still bring their guns & get caught 😂

The first time I got shot at I was 14 & the guy shooting at me was maybe only a few years older. I just went home & made a sandwich 🤷 People say kids are soft these days but I've known many who were already killers as teenagers. Some kids are being kids. Some kids are killing kids. It's a messed up world. First person I ever saw get killed was a teenager & it was a 16yo who did it

I work at a high school in Australia.....we are starting to get this typa stuff.
Moslty knives atm.

But we've had staff set upon by gangs of students and bashed, teachers king hit from behind when sitting in their offices, spat on, stabbed with scissors, threatened with anything not tied down: scalpels from science, (ive found shivs made from scalpels and ball point pens), chairs, heaters, (personally - a shovel). 🤷‍♀

Its outta control.

There is not a day that goes by and i don't see at least one student screaming at a staff member, (right in their face), or just being repeatedly defiant.

It breaks my heart.
It means that even the good kids cant learn at a level they should coz staff spend most of their time controlling kids who havent been parented.☹

If it came from home, dad needs an ass whooping.

I don’t even know what to say about school shootings anymore. Some of my coworkers know people who know people that were affect by the Marjory Stoneman Douglas school shooting and it’s just like what on earth has happened to our society. I could not imagine dealing with something like that. Beyond our comprehension

I have home schooled my kids, my youngest is in her senior year. The older kids are in college. I didn't want to put my kids in a position where politicians with an agenda could affect my children's well being or what they were allowed to learn. Most schools have the K-12 program now where your child can home school on line with a district provided lap top.

Most of our schools have metal detectors you have to pass thru to enter the school

That is so alarming 😞

I don't understand this world

Children aren't the problem... guns and stupid adults are the problems.
