Did you ever have a dream that it later turned out was something that actually happened?

When I was a kid, I remember a dream that I was at home and our dog (a golden lab named Moxy) was scratching at the back door to be let in. But when I opened the door, it wasn’t Moxy but some deranged looking man with a dog costume that started chasing me.

Cut to being an adult and talking about that with my dad and he says that really happened, kind of. It wasn’t a crazy guy, but I did open the door one night to let Moxy in, but I didn’t know she was already inside. I opened the door to this other dog we’d never seen that started barking and snapping at me until dad chased it away.

I used to have a recurring dream about being a 1940s housewife standing in an eternal queue for basic food provisions. My mother has photos of me aged 4-5 queuing with my grandmother for bread in a town square in post-communist Poland which feel very similar . .

I had a dream that someone died, and a week or two later that person died. Similar happened recently, when I had a random thought about a musician I listened to 25 years ago. I looked him up and learned he had died a few hours earlier.

@trollslayer Could you imagine being able to predict death? I don’t think I’d want that.

I had a dream that I had gotten married and basically lived a whole life with them. I met my husband a few weeks later.

@SwampFlower Wow, that’s crazy but sweet.

That's legit frightening and reminded me of Roger the Dogman from The Shining. The book version though, which was genuinely frightening. Not the naff movie and miniseries version.

Yeah. Doesn't happen so much anymore. Why do you think that happens? I wish I knew.
Straylight · 31-35, F
@Selah Could just be coincidence. 🤷‍♀ The human brain is designed to find patterns, even if there isn’t one

I dont remember dreams. I vaguely remember the emotions like stress or joy.

But i do have these deja vu moments when i distinctly remember that this i have seen or visited before and next it will happen like this or the end will not be good.

Dreams perhaps?
It's happened more than a few times

Yes and I really rather not talk about it.

On the other hand.... Moxy🥰. What a great name for a lab
