So I was talking to my neighbor, and she complimented me on my French. How about you? How do you learn a new language?

I’ve improved thanks to my deep commitment to discussing other people’s business in French. (Gossiping😅)

On the other hand, my son talks in English and German. I don’t know much about German, so i guess i have to find German speaking friends…

My neighbor has never complimented me on my French, granted she’s shy and I’ve never spoke French to her.

I grew up speaking English and Cantonese as joint first languages. I’ve subsequently learnt Mandarin, Wu and sufficient French to get by on.🙂🙂
@Anniedlr my nephew (in law) is fluent in Mandarin. I dunno why he wanted to learn it but it seems he is facinated with China.

@BloviatingBuffoon China is a fascinating and fantastic country - I may be a little biased being half Chinese 😂
@Anniedlr i love the food and i used to be amazed at the dynasties :)

My daughter emigrated to Germany and in a short time became fluent in the language and she told me she learnt most of it from cartoons

I've been meaning to start learning French from a friend but I have no time anymore

Bravo, le francais peut t'être utile si tu va au quebec (canada)
Dreadful. I lived in Quebec for 40 years and 4 days, and never learned the language. Now I'm thinking of promising to learn Spanish if my wife gets a mammogram
