Do you wear reading glasses?

I do. Just now one of the lenses fell out because a miniature screw fell out.
Of course there was no chance of finding it
Now I have to go back to where I purchased them for repairs.
Such a design flaw that has been around for as long as the modern era glasses have been around.
I think a better method would be to use rivets instead of screws.
They would never fall out.
If one needed stronger lenses, then the rivet could be drilled out.

I agree with you, the miniature screw idea is terrible. I would say make it seamless and shape the lens so it snaps in once and never comes out again. Why mess around with it.. well of course we all know the answer, they want frames to break so you have to buy more.
It's like going to the dentist, he doesn't want to permanently fix your teeth, he just puts in a temporary fix that lasts a few years, and every cleaning he digs it away until it breaks again. Its all a money making scheme.

@MisterBander I agree with you. I suggested using rivets as they would never come. He said that would not work because lenses might need changing periodically.
To which I replied, the rivets can be drilled out with the right tools.
He looked at me and never answered.
@Gusman Yup, he knows it's his bread and butter. Never gonna happen.
