How is it even possible to maintain a 'routine'?

I find myself just impulsively doing things outside of stuff I need to do every day. It's hard to imagine me being motivated enough to go to the same cafe for a week. Or walk to the same place. Or whatever routines are comprised of
Get depressed enough ralphy and youll have no choice if ya wana feel better

But why would you go to the same cafe for a week? I think it's awesome if you can alter it. I tend to stick with familiar and if I find something that I like, it's hard to choose something I don't know over it. I must be in special mood for experiments.
I have to have a bit of one, but it drives me insane and when I have free time to myself I try to do too much at once because I can't keep up with life. I wish it were more simple

As a person with ADHD , routines are the only way I don’t go crazy. If I get out of my routine, I become anxious and extremely disorganized.
I stoped going to the gym and the trainers stared showing up in my dreams pressuring me lol

Same. I don't get it. Even my normal routine can have extreme deviations.

What have you tried to stay on task?
Is that bad?
People seem weirdly convinced that routines are good.
They are, at best - a bandaid- a stepping stone.
Living to a routine is basically programming.
A program may get you up and running, but it doesnt do much for freethinking.

A program can instill habits, but theres more to life than habitual living.

I think you are misreading what morivation is.

Is it motivational to do the same thing over and over, or is it motivation that inspires you to live beyond it ?
