I see this more in reverse. Where I am it's typically older people blaming the current generation for the state of the world.
It never really made sense to me. We've only been able to vote for like...what...two election cycles now? Maybe 3?
In just 3 cycles we ruined the whole world? Come on now lets get real.
And in my daily life honestly I see older people clinging to positions that they should probably let go. Refusing to pass the torch. Their motivations are obviously not what they should be; they want to coast whereas it is their duty to be ambitious on the behalf of those they represent. The fight is gone out of them and we desperately need warriors right now.
That last part is highly specific to my life and the organization i am a part of but still 🤷🏽♂️. This has been my experience.

Most young ppl who blame old ppl for their problems are working on overcoming them as well.
hunkalove · 61-69, M
Dagnabit, you little whippersnapper, I'll show you some blame! Now get me a bran muffin and some Metamucil and get off my lawn before I turn on the hose!
They have zero sense of self responsibility.

You sound like a boomer 🥲
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@NerdyPotato XD
Depends on what those problems are. If they're the problems caused by older generations, they are right to blame them, as well as doing stuff in putting those problems right.

@Stereoguy That applies to anyone. Not just the young.

Because it’s much easier to lay blame than to be part of the solution. People who blame by group, whether it’s by race, nationality or generation are taking the easy way out.
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
Maybe cuz no one showed them how to solve problems?
Define all of their problems.
Example: personal problems like abuse would fall back onto the older person because that creates long term damage.
Second example: the older generation ruining the economy. It is your fault for allowing it to happen.

Old people blame problems on young people too. Matter of fact, everybody blames some one else for their problems. One thing we all agree on, it ain’t my fault.

@Nelisme This is the problem. It's always somebody else's fault :( Luckily, more and more people I know are solving their problems themselves :)
Nelisme · 22-25, F
@SW-User true
For some people, and I emphasize the word “some,” it’s easier than taking personal responsibility. But there are also problems where blame is reasonably placed.
Torsten · 36-40, M
because so many young people are fragile and been coddled most of their lives. They take no responsibility and want others to solve all their problems for them
Spoiledbrat · F
They can't help how they've been raised. @Torsten

It's always easier to blame others, older or younger, for one's own failings. Not good, but human nature, I suppose.
darkmere1983 · 46-50, M
because they have young snowflake immature minds.
@darkmere1983 Not particularly mature response. Painting with a broad brush, much?
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
Easier to blame,I suppose
Shadyglow · F
when I was young it was my fault too.
Spoiledbrat · F
Maybe they're at fault. shrugs

Lack of wide education

Why not both?

Believing in generational clichés ?🤷
No whole generation can be blamed for anything, they arent homogenous things.

You mean like the way boomers have left the economy?

@Stereoguy Some may not have done, but then again, the same could be said about some older people. Stereotyping never helps.
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
same reason boomers blame young people for their problems XD
