It's a planning tool and doesn't involve passes or stuff ... Is just that most of the things you need in life SHOULD be within 15 minutes of where you live, walking!
It's easy to find the truth...

@Stereoguy once again, it's a planning concept to de centralise ... Spreading amenities out

@Stereoguy ummmm, to point out the bleeding obvious, that's one of the problems that is trying to be remedied

Not true. You will have passes. You are either misinformed, or are a shill for this insidious ideology. @Convivial

@Carissimi show me where it says you will have passes...

Go check through my posts. I’ve posted news reports. I don’t have the energy to keep repeating myself. Or, google 15-minute cities. You are bound to come across information there. Look up Oxford. People are protesting this tyrannical move to take away freedom of movement. People elect city councilors to work for them. They are not elected to dictate to their voters. They all need to be voted out. Same for Paris, and other cities starting this BS. @Convivial

@Convivial presumably you are against having to show passes as you think its incredulous? It is. And there are passes being introduced to move about. So you should be against these controlling measures?

Oxford - Only allowed out of your 15 minute city zone 100 times per year for free. Any time after that you will incur a fine. How will this be enforced......by us giving all our personal info then we can be monitored by anpr and cameras 24/7. You can apply for a pass for more "free" travel via your local government but as they are imposing this with 93% of local residents against this, i dont think we should rely on local government to be rational. They clearly arent.

People need to stand up to this in your face authortarianism.

@Stereoguy

I have to travel all over for my job, I can’t get there on bike, average 1 hours drive. My business won’t be able to run under theses rules.

Unrealistic crazyness, all In the name to save the planet.

It’s BS and all about controlling the masses. 🙄🤡

@Stereoguy It might make sense for planned cities. I saw one in Morocco and most people walk to where they want to go in the city. If they work somewhere else they walk to the bus stops and catch a city-to-city buses that runs all day back and forth. They have an agricultural area in the surrounding areas outside of the city and grow veggies that are really fresh and brought into the center of the city and sold daily.

@Stereoguy Weather conditions and other factors also have to be taken into consideration too. In parts of the world where it doesn’t get knee-deep in snow or iced over or that type of thing people can walk around a lot all year round. Might work for a lot of people near the coast in Southern California if they didn’t need to commute or be on-call for their jobs. Can’t have a one-size-fits all world with different cultures and lifestyle demands.

@Stereoguy well this works pretty good in developing countries, it may be the best way to buy a home. But I would rather live in a tiny house, unattached to other homes, on a small plot of land than to buy into one of these planned communities if given the choice. There are perks in the communities for those who don’t have vehicles….everything they needs….groceries, housewares, clothing, restaurants are there within walking distance, no need to have a garage to park a car if you don’t have one, and the buses are coming every 15-30 minutes to take people to the city for jobs or other reasons.
