I want to eat like All The Time! All The Time!- it’s a habit that started during the covid shutdowns. I’m having a really hard time getting it

Under Control. Does Anyone Have Suggestions on What To Do!?

I've had a bit of that too because of covid and I'm trying to get back on my good habits, lucky for me I've studied nutrition so I have some idea of how to get those good habits back. the first 3 basic things to start with are : eating at the right times : breakfast, lunch and supper but never skip meals or wait too long before having a meal. second thing to do is cut away sugar. third thing is to drink plenty of water. the reason for these 3 things is to go to the root of what causes endless cravings, lets go over these 3 things one by one. if you skip meals or wait too long before eating it destabilizes your general wellbeing and then even if you eat a good meal you'll still feel like crap and you'll crave starchy foods to make you feel better but its a vicious circle because high carb foods make you crave more high carb foods. eating sugar will send your blood glucose to the roof which will over-stimulate your pancreas, overload your body with insuline and then you'll feel run down and crave more sugar or starch. plenty of water is because part of the sensation of being full comes from stretch sensors around your stomach and also thirst makes the body feel run down and crave sugar and starch. lastly, the fourth most important, each meal must be 25% protein, 25% good quality carb ( rice, potatoes, quinoa, avoid pasta) and 50% vegetables. the fiber and the protein slow down digestion so will keep you satiated for a longer time without the sugar spike in the beggining and the crash at the end. exercising regularly, especially after eating, helps to prevent the glucose from spiking and then crashing because it makes you use that excess carb on the spot. pasta and bread make the glucose spike and then crash and then you want more pasta and bread or worst you,ll crave soft drinks and dessert. saying it is easier than doing it, I'm at this same place right now. good luck.

@reflectingmonkey wow, thanks for the insight! 😋🙂
As a former binge eater, my advice is to create a meal plan every week. I use MyFitnessPal and log a weeks worth of meals and only buy those foods. It’s mostly about force and control. You have to force yourself not to eat and stick to your plan.
