How would you motivate a kid who got bad grades in his/her 5th standard?

First I would tell them it's not a big deal. Then I would listen to him/her what they think is the reason. Then I will work towards solving their problems so that they can perform better. Then assure them that now the scores will be better, so that they can have the confidence.
