Is emotional Unavailability a Mistake?

I've always grown up being told to keep my heart guarded. I'm not sure when it morphed into an iron wall. Is this something that'll make up upcoming years less bearable?
How does one go about becoming more relatable?

I'm not exactly the poster child of emotional availability, but what helped me was finding people who were very sweet that I could trust to talk to them.

@FCNantes i find it much easier to talk to and befriend women in general, but i'm sure there are good guys to talk to about your shit

@BlueVeins I'm sure there are, too. But they're few & far between.
Besides, there's nothing I'd say to a man that I wouldn't say to a woman.
