She told me not to get my hopes up

I was stupid to get carried away yesterday, and should know by now that it's pretty much not possible for women to be interested in me. But I'm happy to just be friends, because I quite like hanging out with her. At least I know for sure now.

That's not a rejection statement, btw.
It just means that maybe she's happy with where things are, and wants you to meet her where she is at, and is maybe worried you feel more for her than what she feels for you right now. That's normal in a relationship when it starts off. People have varying degrees of desire or interest in the other. The important thing is to respect each other, talk and communicate.

Just keep being you, enjoy time together, and don't push her for more than she wants to give, and it'll be fine.
