Inconsistencies

I'm currently on summer vacation from school and feeling incredibly bored. I've realized that I spend most of my time in front of screens, either watching YouTube or playing games. So, I thought this would be a great opportunity to develop some new hobbies and improve myself. However, every time I attempt something new, I quickly lose motivation. For example, I tried learning a new language, but after just a day, I would give up. I also attempted exercising and drawing, but again, I couldn't stick with it. It frustrates me that I lack consistency and always end up getting bored and unproductive. Today, I had planned to continue learning the language, but I didn't even open the tutorial. I kind of hate that I'm stuck in this cycle. Just wanted to share my thoughts.

Try setting small targets for each activity each day that you know you can achieve. You are probably trying to do too much at once, which is frustrating you.

If you're interested in moving away screens, which is a really wise move, you can find it all in nature. Either hiking, biking or anything else you have an interest in. Just throwing some food in a backpack, walking out away from people, having some lunch and heading back can make a huge difference. It's a constantly changing environment filled with things to see, learn about and learn from.

I know how that feels. At some point it just starts feeling pointless and you start questioning yourself what do you even do it for.
I hope you push through the 'boredom' of it.
Do other things. Find ways to grow in your life away from YouTube.

It sounds like you could be depressed. Have you spoken to a doctor/counsellor?
