Insecure about Future Plans

I'm having trouble falling asleep because I'm constantly bothered by thoughts about the future. I'm currently in my third year of college and I still haven't made any plans for what comes after graduation. I also feel insecure about my skills and believe that I haven't really learned anything during my studies. I often consider myself one of the worst students in my course, and it feels like opportunities will never come my way once I graduate. It's disappointing because I'm fully aware of all these issues, yet I struggle to make any self-improvements. I know what my weaknesses are, but my bad habits and lack of motivation continue to hold me back. I feel extremely disappointed and anxious about it all. Just wanted to share my thoughts with you all.

That's alright. I felt the same thing when I got my accountancy diploma. Wanted to study for librarian then straight away but things went different. Did some time in the army instead. Got a real kick in the butt there. My advice is to do something next that you like and can do

Degrees don’t necessarily straight into a job.

Go to careers fairs, search internet for graduate training schemes.

Avoid teaching at all costs.

Don’t be afraid to swap careers if it does not work out.

Most of my classmates did not stick with the first job or even the first career path they chose after graduation. You really don't have a good feel for your abilities and likes/dislikes until you tested the waters. I never dreamed I would spend most of my working years in the space program, but I just stumbled into it a few years after graduation.

Reminds me of me in college. I eventually dropped out and joined the military to try and find something i could actually do with my life. You're still fairly young. I suggest you try different things until something clicks for you. But it's definitely going to be up to you putting in the work to try and figure yourself out.
Do you lack motivation for the subject or is it what you're going to do with it after graduation? How about transferrable skills? I also agree with the other comment whereby considering something different if only for a while may help you decide how you feel. What were you aspiring for initially? Is it what you expected?

@Nihiless Actually, I lack motivation in both aspects. When it comes to subjects, I tend to avoid studying the areas where I'm lacking. For instance, I'm pursuing an IT course, but I know I struggle with programming. Despite the abundance of online resources available, I can't seem to motivate myself to study. The same goes for after graduation - I don't have any concrete plans, and the mere thought of job hunting exhausts me. I believe it's mainly due to my habit of laziness. As for transferable skills, I do think I possess some, although I lack confidence in them. Thank you for taking the time to comment and share your thoughts. It means a lot to me.
