My son does sometimes, but I'm not the kind of person people notice doing good things. More often someone takes credit and I'm stuck cleaning up a mess they left.
@PerfectionOfTheHeart Why do you think that is? The same holds true for my brother and I. Same parents, but we are very different. Raises the whole “nature vs nurture” question.
@Ghostinthemachine Well, the first born…who I was talking about…was spoiled from the moment he was born by his grandparents, and probably a little by us on occasion. He could do no wrong in their eyes and they never let him struggle too much despite what we said. That helped shape his attitude on what the world owes him and how he can use manipulation to get what he wants.
The other two were raised very differently because the grandparents didn’t care much about giving them the same treatment. We had more control over how they were raised, and they’re honestly better individuals for it.
@PerfectionOfTheHeart My experience has been different, in that the second born is often the more spoiled one, because the first born is disciplined more, with more rules, whereas the second born has a lot of those rules enforced less, or let “slide”. Perhaps it’s a cultural thing. Also the grandparents seemed to spoilt everyone equally 🤭
