Have you EVER been outright told that you are ugly?

I don't mean in an argument or out of spite. Has someone you either don't know or barely know ever in the course of your life simply walk up to you and say: " You're ugly"? Was the insult followed by something along the lines of:" No offense"?

My sister but she was really sadistic...she called me a fat pig when I was a teen and I lost a lot of weight within 4 months, by the end of the summer she had gained about as much as I lost and then she became a bulemic, which lasted for decades...people need to be careful what they say to others and keep their hurtful words to themselves...

It's my hand. Not everyone get's to be beautiful. lol
I'm just a little perturbed that all through high school I was told that adults wouldn't be as mean as teenagers and I didn't realize that they meant that adults were going to be 75X worse. 😅
Myzery · 41-45, F
Probably at least once a month.
Typically by strangers.
They never say, "no offense" though.
[c=#BF0080]No. I cant believe people just come out and say this.. [/c]

MartintheFirst: What was really interesting about me losing weight was that I wasn't on a diet or even trying...it happened naturally, I believe I was anemic and took iron for the first time in my life, and iron is said to help the metabolism....my friend asked me to go to the pool with her so we'd go about 3 times a week and come home & sleep and I'd eat a light dinner and she'd ask me to go walking and we'd walk till dark. It was really easy. And it wasn't like her words hurt me because I didn't respect her because of her self-centered attitude.

It takes a special kind of a**hole to say "No offense" after calling someone ugly out of the blue.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Anyway, beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder and I'd rather be with compassionate, quirky & fun people than with the "Bea-u-ti-ful People" who are high-class snobs. Looks can only do so much for a person if they are assholes.

Oh yeah. People often straight insult me in a serious manner. I never know how to respond really. "okay...?"
Myzery · 41-45, F
@MartinTheFirst: First thing I want to say to you is, do not take iron pills if you are not deficient in iron. Iron poisoning is bad.
The weird thing was, the teenagers really weren't bad at all. Essentially, I was ignored. Very few ever said anything mean. I was just insignificant. Not worth noticing since I wasn't attractive.
After high school, go into the working world and college and it's just a barrage of insults simply for existing. That's it. So odd.
[c=#BF0080]Martin according to your pic.. you aren't unattractive.[/c]

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that.

Sometimes people suck :(

No, but it wouldn't bother me if someone did. It's an opinion based purely on physical characteristics.

I have I left a club for my cousins birthday and a couple of guys where on the way in as I was leaving one guy snuffed and turned to his friend and said, is this the type of girls in here, f*ck she's ugly, are you sure you wanna go in?
Out of sheer embarrassment I rushed of to get my cab.

MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
