Why do people trust others so easily?

So why is it that after some people get screwed over more than one once they trust them again so easily? I don't understand.

They want to believe that they CAN trust someone, that someone is nice, someone is their friend, someone is that person who they can admire, or love, or something..

Too many people make this too hard..
