What helps with night terrors and nightmares?

My childhood sleeping was riddled with night terrors and nightmares, unfortunately it followed me into adulthood. I have alway just dealt with them, sometimes going months to over a year of averaging 3-4 hours of sleep because of the and not being able to sleep. Last night was my tipping point, I need to do something about it. I woke up screaming and jumped out of bed panicking, waking up my boyfrind. Then once he got me back to bed, I was back up within a few hours with an anxiety attack about my 2nd night terror in one night and also my job (working on changing jobs for many reasons), but for now I am looking for tips for preventing night terrors. Medical management is not an option. I am looking for more natural options.
