Anybody aware of any way I can leave a whatsapp group without the awkward “This person left the chat” thing telling everyone that I left 😬

I muted the group, and tried archiving it too but it still shows on top every time they send a message! 😑

I found the solution!

Simply check “keep chats archived”

This way I can hide the annoying groups in archive and they will stay there even when they send new messages

A new feature will be rolled out in the coming months that will enable you to leave a group without notification. It has to be enabled after the update rollout later this year.

@SW-User Not sure which month it will be. Meanwhile you can uncheck the "show notifications" when you go to the "mute notification" option in whatsapp

That notification is so awkward. I want to leave a group chat bc a total asshat is in it but that notification will appear lol

@deadgerbil Yeah I need to leave multiple very active religious groups that I have been forced into 🥲

But also I don’t wanna be mean and broadcast that I left! 😂 if only I can leave silently 🥲 nobody would notice
