Do most people here have their profile set to show when they are online? I have noticed people commenting that do not show they are online, so just curious as someone fairly new

I think most people let the green light show they are on, but I usually don't. Too many people assume that being online means you want to chat with someone. Usually all I want is to read the posts and occasionally comment.
