If you hubby or wife told you that "you should love them more then you love your kids, and if you could only safe one persons like it should be theirs and not your kids. Because the bible says so,"
My opinion: As an adult, both parents' focus should be on their children, not thenselves.
I don't think it's even a matter of opinion. Humans are biologically wired to put their kids first. It's instinctive. Any parent who doesn't feel that way is simply messed up. It's not normal.
Isn't that the book where some guy tries to murder one of his kids as a sacrifice? Also where another guy's wife gets turned into a pillar of salt after being put out of her home?
Read that one a long time ago. Entertaining stories, but don't take it too seriously
How would I feel? I'd be certain I married a selfish psychopath, and I'd be plotting my way out of the relationship... And to quote the Bible as a was to justify the psychopathic selfishness is the icing on the cake. Seriously, this person is VERY messed up and things won't end well.
My ex used to tell me not to see friends and family, as he should be all I needed. I ended the relationship knowing I could never have kids with a man like that.
