How do I fit in

I am at a point in my life where I am struggling to fit in with family that I have left. I was raised by my grandma. Where she went I went. It was only ever me and her. Now, I don’t have that anymore and I’m struggling to find where I belong. I don’t have the unwavering love and “drop everything” type of relationship with anyone else. I’ve tried. But I’m just an afterthought when building my relationships that I want so badly with my family. I don’t know what to do anymore.

Think about your values, interests, lifestyle preferences and goals.
Move to a place where the majority of people share the same or similar.
Get involved in regular activities related to those things.
You will thus meet as many like-minded people as possible and some of those, over time, will become good friends.
It is actually much easier to create a family-of-affiliation that to deal with a family of blood relations.

If you have any difficulties with communication, conflict resolution, or relationships, be proactive, seek help (such as free online advice from articles in the magazine Psychology Today - or videos of Marshall Rosenberg's NVC).
