Haven't recieved thank you for wedding gift.

My niece was married Labor day weekend in a distant state. We couldn't attend but we sent a generous check with our daughter who flew out for the celebration. Last weekend I saw a thank you card from them on my brothers fridge (his wife attended). We have not received one. What should I do? It was a lot of money for us, and I am hurt our gift has not been acknowledged. Our bank statement showed the check had been cashed 6 weeks ago.

She could be doing a few at a time (she has a year I believe), or the mail is slow. My dad sent a check for my daughters graduation and of course my daughter sent a thank you note, but for some reason it took about 6 weeks to get to them.

that might very well be it

Yes, I'll just wait. Then if nothing happens, well - no more gifts.

I'd ask my daughter to somehow mention it to her. There might be a reasonable explanation.

Thats a good idea too!

I only have one niece who will send thank you notes for anything I've given her, seems like this younger generation doesn't do thank-yous, and I'm at the point if they don't then I don't give anything else.

I would say give it till 2 months post cash then maybe a phonecall is in order... Good luck!💖

Talk to them, tell them you're sorry for not being there, maybe it meant a lot to them and you weren't there.

I think its very rude, but not really sure anything can be done about it.
It's a high price to pay to know someone who won't appreciate. Sorry.

right. There are more appreciative people out there! Next time I'll hand out the money to people at the bus stop then send a note saying I donated to charity in their name.
