Does Anyone know about manufactured homes here?

I don't know much about trailer homes but my mom and I purchased 2 for a property. The salesman has been giving us the run around for months. He finally dropped the units off to our land but they have been sitting on wheels for 2 months.

When I purchased these used units they were on steel posts strapped down. We were sold that we would get the exact same set up and much was made of how great this foundation is.

Now months later the owner's set-up guys have told me that they are going to transfer the units to cinder blocks and not the steel legs.

This sounds cheap to me. Its not what we discussed.
Things to know are: I'm in a desert remote unincorporated area so there are no regulations to consider. The land is very dry since its a desert. The land is very sandy and rocky. I don't think that sinking is an issue. Winds can be very high.

Should I fight for the strap down on the steel legs or accept the cinderblock.
The set up guy told me that cinder block is much better and more requested which I think is a load of bull.

I'd be surprised if the county would not require the tie down straps

they are rated for high winds.

what does your sales contract say?

if they give you a bunch of static you could check with whatever agency regulates them - might make them treat you right

@Pretzel My county does not require anything. People next door live in an old bus
