I go to all girls k-12 school. not only the students, but all of the teachers including the principal are females (the security guards and the janitors are the only exception)
And at my high school, the teachers don’t mind giving some students their phone number and social media accounts.
And due to multiple reasons/situations I got the number of the principal, my basketball coach, the counselor and most of my teachers.
I text them rarely and even when I do it’s formal and for school related stuff only.
But lately I have texting a “few” of them for fun (my coach, my math teacher and my English teacher)
And they don’t mind at all.
I even told my coach about how much I miss basketball practice (Because of corona, schools have shut down temporarily and practice got cancelled) so she invited me over to her house to play with her in her basketball court.
I didn’t go though because of the quarantine.
My best friend online thinks it’s inappropriate for teachers no matter the gender to give their students (12-17 year olds ) their number.
But I don’t think it’s a big deal? I mean they are just friendly and normal convos?
