Switch off sync for most aps except that are important.
Disable auto updates over mobile.
Use low data consumption browsers like opera . Configure settings so that you either don't preload images completely or load them in low Res.
YouTube. STOP using that over data.
Disable automatic upload too for apps that use it. Especially Google photos, if you use it.
