Gymboree, mommy and me, and other activities that involve parents with children getting together for some fun times with the kids. That way, you get to see how they behave with their own children, how they treat kids who aren't there's. Getting to know them a little, before actually forming a friendship, saves a lot of time discovering that this person, or couple is not who you want around you and your kids.
