Anyone here worked at a hotel front desk position?

I'm somewhat at a loss of what to do. Earlier a guest left his room door open, the front desk shift before me was notified and she called the room repeatedly all afternoon with no answer. By the time 11pm rolled around, she was concerned and security took her to check the room. They wanted to make sure nothing was wrong with the guest or the room. What they found was a sleeping guest with his head under the blankets. They woke him up to make sure he was alright and told him they were doing a wellness check. He didn't seem upset at the time.
He came down maybe an hour later and told me he was unhappy about being woken up and asked why he was, I also told him they were concerned and wanted to check on him. He walked away and said nothing else.
Now, at 2am, he called down to the front desk and demanded that I make a report, print and give him the report(that's not a thing we do), give him security footage of the staff entering his room(there are no security cameras in the halls and we do not give security footage to anyone except law enforcement) and get a manager involved. I called my manager, he is likely sleeping, no answer. I informed security. Theres nothing else I can do right now. I fully expect another call later tonight or for him to come back down for something to be done immediately. 🤷‍♀️

I think you didn’t give him enough information when he asked... and you should have been up front about his door being open and calling his room etc... the details that led to the “wellness check” simply point out to him that you were actually worried he was dead because of all the crazy things that happen in this world and hotel business...and that you were all very relieved that he was okay, and that you are very sorry to have upset him and did not want to scare him at the time...but did actually want him to know that he was being checked on rather than pretend that we had not entered the room, you wanted to make sure he was aware. ( I wouldn’t say this but in my observation, Your hotel staff is probably young, inexperienced, etc. Therefore paranoid. But yes, you should never enter a room without probable cause. If the door was not wide open, that’s not probable cause) I don’t think there is any thing wrong with writing a report but be very detailed...
