I am distracting myself from my feelings?

There are just some things that I worry about or have anxiety over, sometimes I feel a little empty. I miss

the good days i've had, lately I haven't been getting any. I've been distracting myself so i don't think

about the things that make me sad, but it doesn't work because i'm always gonna be somewhat

bothered.

I think our whole lives revolve around distractions. We're a society that spends hundreds of billions on movies and music, we have over a thousand TV channels, we make people millionaires for playing a sports game, we carry computers in our pockets to pull out at the first hint of boredom, and some of us can't even take a dump without distracting ourselves. Some people distract themselves by working, and others by working out. Some enjoy online videos, and others online video games.

People are so busy distracting themselves that they aren't even aware that they're distracting themselves. You might even call this website a distraction. In the end, it's normal to want to avoid unpleasant thoughts. I think the important thing to remember is that there's more thoughts to be had than unpleasant ones, so you should aim for having a few. I'm not lobbying for another way to distract yourself, I'm just saying it's important to harbor thoughts in moderation. Thoughts follow feedback loops. Too many negative ones and you won't end up anywhere nice. Too many positive ones and you're in La La Land. Just try to keep yourself grounded. Balance things out. It'll give you a clearer perspective
"What if" thoughts, aren't they? I have them a lot, too, and I know how those thoughts can suck the energy out of you so you feel drained, emotional, feared, depressed.. The key thing that helps for me though is to just live in the 'now', not hold on to guilt feelings of the past or the "what if" thoughts about the future. Even if the now doesn't always give you what you want: Experiences are what they are, but how we think about them define how we feel in the 'now'. I always tell myself "well ive been going through a lot of shit in my life but there was always SOME sort of lesson coming out of it, so i'll just take a look at the bright side and tell myself "this too shall pass" and "one day something good will come out of it" " (which is the opposite thought of "what if things go wrong? ohmygaaawd nooooooo" ;) )

think about why you may be anxious, and how to change it.

Just keep trying to be happy and u will get there one day , I know it seems impossible but it will be okay . Life is short so just live your life without caring what others think and go out have fun, remember don't stay in room alone because it's a trap for anxiety . Hugs hope u get better 🌸
