Personally, I'd resent someone for giving me that kind of information without letting me know who it's coming from and/or what their intentions are.

@WonderfulOne Tell them directly or keep it to yourself til you're ready to deal with it properly. It's not fair to put someone on "alert" for something that you might never follow through on...y'know what I mean?
