There is nothing wrong or dangerous about having a low body mass. The opposite is deadly.

It has been proven over and over again that being overweight causes many diseases and even death but being underweight causes none of those. I hate being told to gain weight and you should too. Being overweight can be very very harmful to you in so many ways. YOU DON"T NEED TO GAIN WEIGHT TO BE HEALTHY. Losing weight is always recommended and it ALWAYS restores your health. For all my guys and girls under 96 lbs, its time to own it!

That's not true, being truly underweight does come with health risks. Either extreme is bad.
@Anon066 True, but it's ok to be skinny. Just like there is fat acceptance there should be thin acceptance.
Anon066 · 31-35, M
There shouldn't be acceptance of any unhealthy state.

There should be acceptance of oneself independent of one's body, and a plan bring implemented to reach a healthy state.

@lightshinesthroughdarkness The only acceptance that is needed is for people to stop glorifying disorders and unhealthy lifestyles. Unhealthy people are the ones that need to do the accepting. Accept they will die from their habits or disorders, or accept there needs to be change.
@SouthernBoxer How many thin people do you see dying from being thin(accept the pro-anna girls who aren't naturally thin). I eat all kinds of junk and I won't die from being thin and being told to gain weight really hurts.
By junk I mean junk food like pizza etc.

If someone wants to eat or starve himself to unhealthy problems and death, he can do as we wants. But shame on anyone who tries to glorify unhealthy habits while trying to get others to pretend everything is fine.
SouthernBoxer · 31-35, M
@lightshinesthroughdarkness Everyone is different. Just because you MIGHT be in an okay state does not mean all other people your weight are just as fine. That is delusional.
SouthernBoxer · 31-35, M
It is NOT about your feelings.
@SouthernBoxer I think it's about me trying to let people know that thin shaming really hurts and it breaks your self esteem as much as fat shamming does. I'm trying to tell people that even though it is really great and healthy to be thin it really really sucks when we are shunned and shamed for it. Fat shaming is wrong but being fat is deadly. Being thin is not.
Not as deadly anyway
Anon066 · 31-35, M
It's more deadly. The effects are much more acute. Low energy availability is very dangerous. Obesity is a chronic disease that cause's other chronic diseases. Being underweight causes acute failures and sudden death.

Shaming of anybody is wrong, that's a completely different subject.
SouthernBoxer · 31-35, M
@lightshinesthroughdarkness Again, it is not about your feelings. Sometimes, being shamed and having it pointed out is what that person needs. Telling them they are fine is wrong. You are helping place that person is his early coffin. Do not spread misinformation.
@Anon066 At 96 lbs I sleep less, stay up longer, get more done(work is usually more accurate and precise) and I feel happier since it feels good to look in the mirror. I want this for everyone but how could others want this good health if they are mercilessly shamed for being thin?
