What city to you recommend moving to in the US?

Hey guys,

I'm planning to move back to the States soon.

Just wonder where you recommend living.

I never want to live down south again, I don't like extreme weather (but it's negotiable if it's cold), I need a diverse city, and there should be public transportation!

Some that I've thought of are: Denver, Seattle (TOO EXPENSIVE), Portland, Madison, and Indianapolis.

Expense is a major concern (recentish college grad)

Hopefully your cities are awesome!

I was in Detroit a couple of years ago. Looks like they're making an effort, but in some ways it reminded me of Havana!

@ninjavu last time I was in Detroit, it reminded me of downtown Baghdad... 🤔

@wildbill83 *lol* I hear ya, I've heard that too.

@ninjavu The north suburbs of Detroit are fine, Oakland County, etc. -- Troy, Bloomfield, etc. And, there are older close-in suburbs like Grosse Pointe that are fine, but public transport tends to be a bit more limited. Downtown, meh, Detroit has so many issues still to work through.

@toddr13 I did drive through some nice areas (don't remember the names though), but I wasn't there very long, unfortunately. Was a quick stop.
