Yes, my grandparents spoke Spanish but their children knew very little Spanish. I didn't grow up learning Spanish. I've had to learn on my own. I'm not fluent yet. Not sure if I ever will be.

@Mariocrespo8546 I'd need intensive practice. I know some, but I wouldn't be able to have a speaking conversation. I do okay with written Spanish.

@Mariocrespo8546 cool. That doesn't mean all hispanics can speak Spanish. It all depends on where they were born and what language was spoken in the child's household and what they were exposed to in childhood.
