Why is the holocaust a bigger deal in the U.S. than slavery? ._.

I think both are huge issues and bothare a big deal. The holocaust is maybe more recent and there are peoplecstill alive who were involved?

@InOtterWords I agree. Obviously, they're huge calamities on an equal death toll but unequal damage scale. The lingering damage of slavery is much worse upon simple inspection. I just wonder why a foreign event and problem that COMPLETELY ended is still more popular up to date
