Is it okay to use shortcuts if it works as good as the conventional method?

Call me lazy but I end up using shortcuts very often and it does work for me, but I have observed that some people make you feel really guilty about it, and that makes me feel so conflicted lol

The only thing I know for sure about shortcuts is that in one out of ten, the shortcut ends in an incomprehensible detour.
