Is it possible?

My car insurance is due in 3 weeks & I got a quote from my usual provider which i have agreed to but money isn't due for 3 weeks. I have got a better quote from another provider & although I have agreed to the initial provider is it still possible to cancel the 1st provider so i can switch to 2nd cheaper provider?
