Anti depressants

I know they don't all work the same for everyone.
I used to take Zoloft. They helped. After a while however, my anxiety built up. I started getting these anger flashes and would cry as if I had lost someone. I didn't like it so I stopped taking them and got worse.
I now take Wellbutrin. I was happy when this doc gave them to me because they help in weight loss. They're also for aid in smoking because up I told her I smoke marijuana. But why would I want to stop doing that. Not that it does. I've been taking them for a month. I see slight changes. I still have lots of anger in me. I don't know why. Stupid things mostly.
What anti depressants do you take and please give me pros and cons.

Anger is never stupid. There's a reason. But maybe its being blown out of proportion by the meds? You should mention this to your doc. I don't take antidepressants but I take a lot of pain meds because my back was injured a while ago.

When my pain gets really high, my brain literally switches over and I am so angry about everything. When my pain goes down, it switches back. The thing is, the anger is about things I'm really mad at deep down. But it gets blown up when I have pain. Not sure if this helps...

yes, that does sound about right. I say stupid because it can be the simplest of things like I messed up my eyeliner and I burst into tears and break stuff. It's ridiculous.
I have mentioned it. I've had some bad psychiatrists tho. Well, she's my second one but honestly, they just don't seem to care.

It does make sense. Though thank you :)

Hmm, yeah that does sound a bit serious though. I do understand to a degree. If say my Dad is 1 sec late or too slow when he needs to drive me, I get so angry at him. But mostly I just keep it inside. In a way its good that you can break down and let it out. Its healthier for you than keeping it inside. Have you explained to your doc about these issues? It may be a side effect from the meds.

@Hutchman: yes! I feel the same way. It's sometimes embarrassing. It's as if I were a young child throwing a tantrum. Except I'm an adult doing so.
I did but she just listed it down never really said why

yeah I hate when they do that. you tell them something important and they just write it down and don't do anything about it! makes me wonder... but at the same time they are (or should be trained) to know when something is important or not. maybe they just need to be told a couple of times, to realize it is important. also, you should verse yourself on 'pharmokinetics'. i don't know why docs don't tell us more. information is power! sometimes drugs take a while for initial side effects to wear off (like a few weeks). ask your doc to tell you more about this. maybe that's why she hasn't done anything yet. but if it doesn't go away then she should do something! so keep her updated.

did you have these anger bursts with the old med or just the new? and how long have you been on the new one?

anywhooo hope you're having a better day!
