Why it is not sometimes associated with other intellectual qualities?

I always thought it is a combination of artistic skill and the flexibility in one's less serious view because my early recgnization of it is from comedians :)

Good comedians are very intelligent,yes many be witticism is connected to emotional intelligence and some non intellectual people can have it.
