I don't understand how girls and guys can be friends

My past would explain why I believe that- but the question is how can I believe that girls and guys can be friends?😕

I can be friends with a girl without wanting to get inside of her pants. I have had girlfriend's in the past and girls that I was just friends with only. It can be done and It's OKAY to have just friends as well
