I am in a weird situation, if you have anxiety I want your opinion on this.

Okay, so I liked this girl but she has issue, we were really close even though I wasn't her boyfriend. Recently she stopped talking to me on facebook because her doctor gave her orders that she isn't allowed to talk to guys anymore because guys triggers her anxiety. Have you heard of a situation like this before? Do you feel so uncomfortable around one gender you had to push away all your friends of that gender? Is this something a psychologist would prescribe a patient? What are your thoughts on this situation?
