Anyone else experience anxiety after they get home from work?

I like my job, and being there isn't all that stressful (it has it's moments), but I am generally pretty cool about being there. Without fail though, about a half hour after I get home, I am hit with a huge wave of anxiety, stemming from, for lack of better words, freaking out about the "rat race", the toll it takes on me, the pressure to live up to what is expected of me, etc, etc...

What IS this, and how do I make it go away?
When that happened to me it was the change from the seriousness of my work to the safety of my home. I changed it by changing my routine. I had to ease into my home life. So I'd go somewhere I enjoyed right after work, or I'd run errands.
Hope whatever you do it gets better.

@dragonfly46 Thanks! and yeah, indeed it is the difficulty "easing in" to my chill time at home that I struggle with. I live alone, so it's not like I have anything (much else than myself) to face here, and I am generally happy about my place of residence, and quite cosy here.. but sometimes it takes awhile to calm into this "safe space".

Maybe if I took your point of finding "something" to do in between work and home, it might help. =)

Well, maybe when you're at work you know who you're supposed to be !
You can easily do what'a asked of you.
It's something you have control over.

Once you're home you have to be 'sociable' you.
Making contact with folk who (for whatever reason) might make you feel uncomfortable.

It is normal. I have a mini meltdown after getting home and then again at bedtime. Not sure if making it go away completely is an option.
