Is it illegal for somebody to stop you from taking prescribed medication?

Or just morally wrong?

Morals have nothing to do with it.

If you were deemed incompetent by a medical professional, then your Power of Attorney could stop you from taking a prescribed medication, as they are acting on behalf of yourself and acting in what they feel is your best interests. But that does not mean they are right! What it means however, is that they have legal control OVER you, which in this case you no longer have for yourself.

If you have NOT been deemed incompetent and are therefore acting in your own best interest, not even a Power of Attorney you have on file can override your own decisions for yourself, because you are still making your own decisions for your own personal welfare.

If a Power of Attorney illegally acted on your behalf even though you are still deemed 'competent' to act on your own behalf, your P of A can be charged with fraud. If you were a senior citizen, your P of A could also be charged with 'Elder Abuse' under the Criminal Code.
