I politely leave the conversation as soon as I notice the symptoms and, from then on, I avoid them.
I think that they’re people I don’t want to be around. But that they can somehow dig deep and make changes so they don’t end up alone and miserable.

Very damaged people, most can’t see their behaviour and shift blame.
The type that won’t do any work on themselves, so very little hope of them ever changing, they think everyone else is the issue, not them.
