Why are people so concerned about being in fashion?

Or buying the newest device which is very minimally different from the previous version, when you have the previous one already? Wake up, sheeple! Consumerism and corporatism. Consumerism and corporatism everywhere...

I dunno somebody decided to slap a logo on something, people start buying it and then they tell others and it continues as childish as "well everyone else is doing it" I guess because we evolved to be a social group and then doing what the social group does... I suppose there is more to not looking dated when you are out on the town or something.

I think it's another form of brainwashing.

whoops. Hit the send button on accident. I chose BNW over 1984. I was originally gonna read 1984 though. I should download an audio book for it...

It's pretty bleak, though entertaining in its own way. I don't think we're at that point yet, but it's easy to see how we could end up there if people don't pull themselves out of their collective slumber.

Not sure. Maybe so they can be cool

But that's a stupid way of defining what's "cool." A rich person can wear dingy cheap clothes (as I do--but uh, graphic tees aren't cheap hahaha), but a poor person can't wear (ugh) Gucci. I can't to help but to think of Fred. As Go Go said, he looks like he lives under a bridge. Forever alone there. But then you see he lives in a mansion (still forever alone). xD
