Would you give away something that you value a lot in the blink of an eye, because someone else needs it more than you?

No, it would completely depend on the item. I carry a lot of sentimental value in the items I have and I don't see my things for what they're worth in cash or to someone else. I see how they're worth in my memories and my feelings. So if someone needed my baby blanket for their baby, I would just give them enough money to buy one. There is too much value in it for me to give it up.

Sometimes I value other people's needs above my personal materialist possessions. In that frame of mind yes and have done so. It is expensive though so not often in that frame of mind for practical reasons. Interesting place to be though.

Depends on the thing and on the person. Would I give my fanciest pen away to a stranger who really needed it? No. Would I give my favourite sandwich to someone who is starving? Yes.
