When you're being interviewed for a job, how do you answer the question "Tell me about yourself"?

Do you talk about anything personal or non-work-related, or do you only talk about your work experience and how it relates to the job that you're interviewing for?I have a job interview tomorrow, and that's always one of the most challenging questions for me.

Try to get a copy of Guide to Rethinking Interviews. It gives you word by word responses and discusses the "right" things to say. I got a copy at my local library, but you can also purchase it. It's only $13.

"Well, I'm loyal, trustworthy and always look to go the extra mile to help ppl."
I said some bs like that I think. Anything that sounds good, nobody knows what it means.

That sounds good to me. Thanks!

Yes. The interview was for a corporate security position in my case. Idk if that's " professional" but it wasn't for like macdonalds or somthing. To me most of the questions asked in interviews r bs read off a script. As long as u can come across professional, that's good enough.

That sort of question pisses me off at any time, as it's so broad. I'd quite possibly reply 'Well this could take a long time, was there any specific areas you want to know about or do you want me to start at conception?'

I should be in bed, but logged back in on PC when I saw you have a interview tomorrow. See PM.

I just did. Thank you. That was very helpful.

YW. One more quick PM with couple more suggestions...

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my question, after your bedtime. Your ideas were very helpful, and I'm sure that they will be very helpful to me in future interviews also. When I was trying to choose the best answer, it was almost a toss-up between your answer and iCuriousBabe's answer. But you did go into a little more detail in your private message. I'm very thankful to both of you. <3

Previous experience and accomplishments are what is impt. Next are your skills and work attitude.
