Is space exploration and possibly colonization of other planets the future of humanity?

Absolutely. I don't think it will be fast, as we are still taking our first baby steps.

I think soon we will be out and about the stars. 100 years or so to permanently colonization of outer space.

I think the next big advance will be detection and manipulation of gravity.
