Should we be trying to colonize space?

@exexec this planet is doomed. Maybe not in the next hundred years or even thousand but the clock is ticking. Procrastination works until it doesn't

@ViciDraco But if this this planet is 'doomed,' how much sense does it make to go to a moon or planet that can't sustain any life? Why not 'colonize' here on earth to mitigate whatever 'doom' takes place?

@ViciDraco I prefer to improve the lives of billions of people instead of saving a few rich folks to continue the species on another planet. Even that will end unless we can escape this solar system before the Sun's life ends.
