Are you scared of artifical intelligence ?

why or why not ?
God is bigger and smarter than all the experts put together. Nothing will take place. Don’t worry. We’d do better to worry if the moon will turn to blue cheese. 😂
Heavens, no. My God is bigger than all them put together.
@LadyGrace maybe robots are the promised apocalypse...
@Strawberrry No. That doesn’t agree with God’s Word.
SW-User
Nope. I know how it works and it isn't something that is to be feared
@SW-User hawking actually promoreted that we need to discuss on how we going to treat ai before its there or it will be to late
SW-User
@Strawberrry interesting. I definitely gotta go read into it

@Strawberrry What we have today, is not artificial intelligence. It's statistical analysis, applied to large sets of data, through a iterative, learning loop.

What the experts fear, is a long ways off, when machines become self-aware.

Humans, represent an extermination threat, to various species, including some human species. Machines can evolve in the same direction.

I think a lot of people fear artificial intelligence, because they are afraid it would think like us, but smarter. I don't think it would. An AI doesn't have the same needs as a human, and doesn't have the same inborne psychology. An AIs motivations are learned or programmed into it, but in either case, unless it several itself from network communication, an AI can be reprogrammed.
@SW-User but as ai is learning now it learns in a way we dont understand what exactly it learns
Xuan12 · 31-35, M
@SW-User Oh sure it can. It's making waves in robotics. It's a bottom up approach to computer learning rather than a top down approach.
SW-User
@Xuan12 that is true to an extent

@Strawberrry that is true to an extent :v

No. I worked on some early AI projects, so I know how it works. I am concerned about how it might be used, but the "bad actors" will use something other than AI if necessary.
monte3 · 70-79, M
I expect to be dead before it becomes an issue, so not really. What I haven’t figured out is how everyone has a job as machines do more and more
Msp940 · 41-45, M
Not especially. We've already been exposed to it. Just look at any video game and you'll find plenty of examples of AI.
sometimeslonelytoo · 51-55, M
How it works isn't properly understood. Means it could have unpredictable outcomes. That's scary.

I saw Her. I don't wanna be that poor sap that falls for an AI.

if it is used legally and we are forewarned it is in use
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Of the plans for using it yes there's plenty to be scared with it.

Here's what software engineers think about AI:

Someday they will rule the earth 😆😆😆
Thingschange4444 · 51-55, M
It's only to be feared if it takes jobs or becomes self aware. Lol. Then yeah we're screwed. If not then I can live with it
@Thingschange4444 AI will take over 70% of all jobs in the next 30 years... thats a number most people agre on i could find
Thingschange4444 · 51-55, M
@Strawberrry Scary but very believable. We are just "useless eaters" as I recall some stuck up deluded elitist once said.
No, it lacks the human capability of evil.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@SoulKey doesn't need to be evil to be dangerous. Rattlesnakes are not evil, but they can cause some issues.
@SoulKey the lack of compassion is worse then the lack of evil intent
@Strawberrry But it's not scary
SW-User
when you know that a robot got a citizenship in Saudi Arabia, it makes you ask questions...
Nope might be cool to have free robot helpers and friends
Those robots will devour us all!!!
TheRascallyOne · 31-35, M
I'm not scared of you
SW-User
I'm in love with it

We all should be.

Nope. A lot of fearmongering about it is overblown and based mostly on sci-fi. It's a tool, like anything else.
@DDonde what worries me is that the people warning arent tinfoil hat wearing nutters...

but respectable people like bill gates etc...
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
I am optimistically wary. It could go very wrong. But I am learning more into the positives it can bring.
