@therighttothink50 Just as well that so far at least, the novelist's prediction has not come about, even though some seem to like to pretend it it has or want it believed so, for whatever their own (usually unexplained and perhaps inexplicable) reasons...
What worries me far more than one of the central points of the futurist science-fiction story [i]Brave New Worlds[/i], is the battle of truth and open discussion, against ignorance, fear, lies, discussion-crushing and specious allegations often for cheap political-partisanship, in "social[??}-media" on the Internet.
Note: "discussion", not "debate". They are not synonyms.
The irony of using an up-to-the minute product of science and engineering is of course lost on those who exploit it to attack science...

Scientists don´t trust "Science". They make it be what it is.
Of course Science haves an history of rights and wrongs.
But the only fruitful refutations and adjustements to Science along history were made within Science.
